A foreign national was arrested in Igoumenitsa during the early hours of New Year’s Day for attempted theft and violations concerning immigration and weapons laws. The individual attempted to steal a scooter and was found in possession of a 22-centimeter butterfly knife. It was also established that the suspect had entered the country illegally, violating a Schengen entry ban. He has been referred to the Prosecutor’s Office in Thesprotia.
