Former Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz announced he will not return to Congress next year, a day after withdrawing his candidacy for Attorney General amidst allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct and drug use. In an interview, Gaetz expressed his intent to continue fighting for former President Donald Trump from another position, while denying any wrongdoing. The House Ethics Committee had been investigating his conduct but did not reach a consensus on publicizing its findings. Following Gaetz’s withdrawal, Trump selected Pam Bondi as his nominee for Attorney General.
