Former Paddleboard Tour Company Owner Charged with Manslaughter in 2021 River Tragedy

Nerys Bethan Lloyd, a 39-year-old former police officer and paddleboard tour company owner, faces charges of gross negligence manslaughter after four individuals—Nicola Wheatley, Morgan Rogers, Paul O’Dwyer, and Andrea Powell—died in a river incident in Pembrokeshire in 2021. Lloyd was granted unconditional bail and is scheduled to appear in Swansea Crown Court on January 3. The case was deemed too serious for Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court by District Judge Mark Layton.
