The Fórsa trade union is set to recommend a pay deal for up to 40,000 workers in the community and voluntary sector, featuring a 9.25% salary increase backdated to October 2024, with additional phased rises in 2025 and 2026. The agreement was reached after negotiations between government representatives and unions, allowing automatic links to future public sector pay agreements. The government has described the funding proposals as unprecedented, allocating around €140 million annually for health and social care workers.
