France Conducts Airstrikes Against ISIS in Syria
France has executed targeted airstrikes against ISIS positions in Syria, marking the first such operation in two years. Minister of the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, confirmed that Rafale jets and Reaper drones dropped seven bombs on two military targets. This operation is part of the international anti-jihadist coalition, Operation Inherent Resolve, which France has been involved in since 2014 in Iraq and 2015 in Syria. The deployment includes approximately 600 French soldiers stationed in the region.
