France Raises Bird Flu Risk Level to High Amid Growing Infections

France has announced an increase in the avian flu risk level from ‘moderate’ to ‘high’, as per a recent official decree. This change is due to a significant rise in infections among wild birds since late September, fueled by migratory patterns. The government has implemented stricter biosecurity measures: poultry in farms with over 50 birds must now be sheltered, while smaller flocks will be netted or protected. This action comes following the identification of six poultry outbreaks, two cases in captive birds, and ten wild bird infections since the season began.
