Authorities in Southern Corfu have solved a fraud case involving a phone scam targeting an elderly local resident. The scammer posed as a doctor, claiming a relative of the victim needed urgent surgery after a traffic accident. The victim was tricked into handing over €20,000. Two individuals, aged 23 and 24, have been identified and charged; the 23-year-old was also arrested for drug possession. During searches, €2,000, marijuana, mobile phones, and a precision scale were seized. Prosecution efforts are ongoing.
