Anton, 60, humorously remarked on his age while expressing his surprise at receiving the honor, succeeding fellow chef Yoann Conte. The award recognizes his culinary mastery, with Anton credited for representing timeless Parisian cuisine and maintaining prestigious establishments. Alongside Anton, Sébastien Nabaile was named Pastry Chef of the Year and Bastien Debono as Sommelier of the Year.
