Free Colon Cancer Self-Tests Offered in Thessaloniki Pharmacies
Over 980 pharmacies in Thessaloniki are participating in a health ministry initiative providing free self-tests for colon cancer to individuals aged 50 to 69. Approximately 130,000 tests have been distributed, with nearly half of the results recorded, revealing a 6% positivity rate. The president of the Thessaloniki Pharmaceutical Association, Dionysios Evgenidis, encourages citizens to take the tests and highlights their safety and reliability. The association plans an outreach campaign to promote awareness of this preventative measure.
