French Court Issues Hefty Sentences in Samuel Paty Murder Case
A French court has handed down unexpected prison sentences related to the murder of teacher Samuel Paty, exceeding the prosecution’s requests. Two accomplices of the assailant received 16 years for their roles, although the prosecution deemed them not aware of the attack plans. Additionally, the father of a student who incited a hate campaign against Paty, along with his accomplice, received 13 and 15 years, respectively, despite the prosecution initially seeking lesser terms.
