The French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines (ANSM) is urging pharmaceutical companies to implement measures by January 2025 to prevent the misuse of drugs prone to chemical submission. Following a recent trial highlighting the issue, the agency recommends modifying the visual and sensory characteristics of these medications to enhance detection. The call comes amid a significant rise in reported cases of chemical submission, with 1,229 incidents recorded in 2022, marking a 69% increase from the previous year.
