French Parliament Passes Comprehensive Law for Neurodevelopmental Disorders

On November 5, the French Parliament unanimously approved a law aimed at improving the identification and support of children with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD), including autism, particularly in schools. The legislation mandates the establishment of dedicated educational facilities by 2027 and enhances training for educational staff. It also includes provisions for two reimbursed screenings at nine months and six years, emphasizing the importance of early detection. Senator Jocelyne Guidez highlighted the human and societal costs of neglecting prevention, advocating for comprehensive support for affected families and caregivers.
