Geminid Meteor Shower to Light Up the December Sky

The Geminid meteor shower, one of the most spectacular and consistent meteor displays, is expected to peak between December 14 and 15. Known for producing over 150 meteors per hour, the shower originates from asteroid 3200 Phaethon. Despite light pollution affecting visibility, the event promises bright fireballs, making it an exciting spectacle for both rural and urban viewers. Astronomy experts emphasize that this year’s shower is particularly noteworthy, as it begins shortly after sunset and continues until dawn.
