Germany Allocates 60 Million Euros for Humanitarian Aid in Syria Amid Political Turmoil
Germany has commissioned humanitarian aid projects worth 60 million euros for Syria, despite the ongoing political instability following the ousting of President Bashar al-Assad. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has distanced Russia from Assad, attributing the rapid regime change to the government’s failure to address societal issues. Development Minister Svenja Schulze emphasized the dire humanitarian situation in Syria, where 90% of the population lives in poverty. The aid will be channeled through UN agencies and NGOs, avoiding direct collaboration with the current Syrian authorities.
