Starting in 2025, Germany’s Foreign Office will roll out a digital visa application process aimed at expediting the entry of skilled workers. The move comes in response to widespread complaints about the bureaucratic hurdles within the current visa system, which includes long waiting times and complicated procedures. Annalena Baerbock, the Foreign Minister, emphasizes the importance of this digital transformation, which includes a new overseas portal that connects 167 German diplomatic missions.
