Greece Advances Space Capabilities with New Satellite Program Contracts
Greece has signed six contracts for the third phase of its National Microsatellite Program, aiming to develop geospatial services to enhance public sector operations. The initiative, budgeted at €17 million and funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, involves creating a Government Space Hub for processing satellite data across agriculture, forestry, water, land, and security sectors. Greek companies will lead the projects, fostering local technological capacity and creating jobs. Notably, the program aims to transform satellite data into valuable insights for effective policy-making, disaster management, and resource allocation.
