In a recent special session of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, Greece’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Evangelos Sekeris, emphasized Greece’s dedication to keeping Haiti high on the UN Security Council’s agenda. He highlighted Greece’s collaboration with UNICEF and CARICOM to address the urgent needs of Haitian children and support the country’s political transition. Sekeris noted Greece’s historical connection to Haiti and its priorities upon entering the UN Security Council in 2025, particularly the agenda on ‘Children in Armed Conflict.’
