Greece has announced that all vehicle owners must pay their registration fees by December 31, 2024, with no extensions permitted. Tax advisor Arleta Velissarakou warned that late payments could incur steep penalties, starting at 25% for January and escalating to 100% by March. The registration process is reportedly simple, allowing payments via bank transfer or QR codes. Vehicle owners wishing to declare their vehicles as inactive must remove their license plates and keep the cars in a secure area. To avoid added costs, prompt payment is advised.
