The Greek Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, has announced upgrades to language proficiency requirements for military personnel assigned to foreign posts. The changes mandate excellent knowledge of English for all personnel stationed abroad, alongside good command of the local language for those assigned to embassies in France, Germany, Spain, and Italy.
