Greece has initiated the automatic issuance of tax identification numbers (VAT) for children under 12, following a similar process for those above 12. This measure aims to streamline bureaucracy and does not impose tax filing obligations on minors. Parents will be notified through the electronic platform of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) once their child has been assigned a VAT number. Approximately 700,000 children are expected to receive these numbers by the end of the month.
