Greece Expands Tax ID Issuance to Children Under 12
Greece’s Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has initiated the automatic issuance of Tax Identification Numbers (AFM) for minors aged 12 and below, starting November 11. This move is expected to benefit approximately 700,000 children, easing administrative burdens for families. Parents will receive notifications via email and through the myAADE digital portal. Although AFM issuance doesn’t require tax filing, parents must declare their children on their 2023 Income Tax Returns. This initiative follows a similar program from last year that assisted over 299,000 families with minors over 12.
