Greece Expresses Concern Over Humanitarian Crisis in Sudan

Greece’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Evangelos Sekeris, raised alarm over the worsening humanitarian crisis and famine in Sudan during an emergency Security Council meeting. Highlighting the urgent need for international intervention, he outlined three priorities for addressing the situation: unhindered humanitarian access, increased aid support, and cessation of hostilities. Sekeris emphasized the importance of protecting vulnerable populations, particularly women, girls, and children, who face increased risks. The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization has warned the crisis could deepen without immediate action.
