Greece Launches New Housing Aid Program to Combat Rental Costs
The Greek government has introduced a new housing aid program, ‘Spiti Mou II,’ as part of a tax bill aimed at easing the financial burden of rent for families. Announcing a budget of €2 billion starting in early 2025, Social Cohesion and Family Minister Sophia Zacharakis stated that the program will expand eligibility to individuals up to 50 years old and increase income limits. The initiative includes support for single parents and families with multiple children, while also planning renovations for disabled individuals’ homes by January 2025.
