Greece Prepares for Implementation of Regulatory Framework for Organ Donation from Circulatory Death

Greece is set to implement a regulatory framework for organ donation from circulatory death by 2025, according to Yiannis Boleto, president of the Onassis Hospital. Currently, organ donations in Greece only occur after brain death. The country has seen a record number of organ donations this year, reflecting ongoing improvements in the healthcare system, including increased ICU beds and local coordinators for organ donation. The upcoming 6th Transplant Masterclass will further educate and prepare the community for these necessary changes.
