Greece Tackles Housing Crisis with New Policies
In a recent interview, Greek Minister Akis Skertzos highlighted the urgent need for affordable housing amid rising demand and limited supply, exacerbated by tourism and short-term rentals. To address these challenges, the government has launched the ‘My Home’ policy, offering subsidies and low-interest loans aimed at helping around 20,000 households secure homes by January 2025. Additionally, a new transparency initiative will allow for public access to anonymized rental and sale agreements, enhancing market visibility and helping to stabilize prices in various neighborhoods across Greece.
