Greece to Offer International Baccalaureate in Public Schools by 2026
Greece’s Deputy Minister of Education Zetta Makri announced that public schools will pilot the International Baccalaureate (IB) program beginning in 2026, a significant shift as it has previously only been available in private institutions. The initiative, endorsed by Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis, aims to enhance educational opportunities and provide students with diverse pathways for higher education. Makri emphasized the importance of implementing best practices and addressing any concerns from private education sectors.
