Greece’s First ICILS Participation Reveals Digital Literacy Strengths and Weaknesses

In its debut participation in the International Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS) 2023, Greece’s secondary students demonstrated notable strengths in problem-solving and digital organization, outpacing their peers in several areas. However, the study highlighted significant weaknesses, with only 39% of students achieving advanced literacy skills. Greece ranked 23rd out of 31 countries, highlighting a digital skills gap and emphasizing the necessity for enhanced educational policies and resources. The Institute of Educational Policy is prioritizing the improvement of digital skills in schools to address these challenges.
