Greece’s Pre-Earthquake Inspection Initiative Gains Momentum
A recent seminar in Tripoli focused on Greece’s extensive pre-earthquake inspection project. Funded by the Recovery and Resilience Fund, the initiative aims to assess public and private buildings nationwide. The program, overseen by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, includes three levels of inspections and has already registered approximately 35,000 buildings. With a budget of €32.5 million allocated for initial inspections, the efforts prioritize schools, hospitals, and emergency service buildings, as further funding is sought to support the necessary interventions.
