Greece’s Tax Cuts Boosting Revenue and Investment, Says Minister
At the OECD tax forum in Athens, Greece’s Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis highlighted the positive impact of tax cuts since 2019, claiming they have fostered investment and economic growth while increasing state revenues. He emphasized the importance of a competitive tax system for funding essential services and instilling public trust. The government has reduced 72 taxes to combat overtaxation inherited from the economic crisis. Alongside these cuts, reforms aimed at enhancing tax compliance and reducing tax evasion are underway, employing advanced digital tools and streamlined processes for taxpayers.
