At an event titled ‘Army and Climate Change’, Greek Deputy Minister of National Defence Ioannis Kefalogiannis outlined the role of the armed forces in addressing climate crises. He emphasized their readiness to assist in disaster response while underscoring the importance of military involvement in managing natural disasters, population evacuations, and border monitoring in the face of increasing migration flows. The event highlighted the establishment of the Construction and Natural Disaster Management Command (DIKAFKA), which aims to enhance the country’s crisis management capabilities.
