Greek law enforcement has dismantled a criminal organization involved in the illegal production and trafficking of alcoholic beverages. Seven individuals have been charged, with five arrested during a coordinated operation in Crete and Attica. The group operated since at least 2022, establishing a network of illicit facilities to manufacture and distribute unlicensed alcohol, avoiding taxes and necessary permits. Authorities seized significant amounts of alcohol and distillation equipment in the crackdown, which is estimated to have bypassed more than €120,000 in taxes.
