Greek Central Government to Manage Recycling in Ten Municipalities
The Greek central government will take over the collection and management of recyclable materials in ten municipalities of Epirus, each with a population under ten thousand, through a tender process. These municipalities will be exempt from management costs, which will be covered by landfill fees. The system, which includes blue and brown bins, is expected to be fully operational by 2026, as announced by Manolis Grafakos, Secretary General for Waste Management at the Ministry of Environment.
