Greek Court Sentences Residents for Protests Against Refugee Housing

A Thessaloniki court has sentenced 17 residents of Vrasna to 36 months in prison and a fine of 5,000 euros each for their violent protests against the housing of refugees in local hotels and apartments in October 2019. Although the penalties were imposed, the residents were released pending their appeal. They denied the charges, claiming their protests were peaceful.
