Greek Distiller Celebrates Strong Tsipouro Production Amid Adversity

Alexandros Alexiou, a traditional tsipouro distiller from Neochoropoulo, Ioannina, reported a satisfactory harvest this year despite facing hail damage in August. He managed to produce 600-700 kilograms of grapes from his two hectares of vineyards. Alexiou’s tsipouro, crafted using local grape varieties, reaches an alcohol volume of approximately 38%. He continues to produce this aromatic spirit primarily for family and friends, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Greek distilling traditions.
