Greek Farmers Sue for Compensation After Devastating Rain Damage

In August, heavy rains severely damaged peach crops ready for harvest in the regions of Imathia, Alexandria, and Pella, prompting over 500 farmers to file a lawsuit against the Greek Agricultural Insurance Organization (ELGA) to claim compensation. The farmers, facing losses exceeding 20%, are gathering evidence with the help of an expert team in Athens and are asserting their right to compensation due to climate change-related damages. The legal action is set to be initiated in December.
