Greek Federation Challenges Constitutionality of University Law
The Greek Federation of Teaching and Research Personnel (POSDEP) is taking legal action against the provisions of Law 5094/2024, which allows for the establishment of foreign university branches as private legal entities in Greece. POSDEP argues that this contradicts the Greek Constitution, which stipulates that higher education can only be provided by public law entities with complete self-governance. The case is set to be reviewed by the Council of State, Greece’s highest administrative court.
