Greek Foreign Ministry’s Political Director Resigns Ahead of Retirement
Ambassador Roussos Kundouros, the Political Director of Greece’s Foreign Ministry, has submitted his resignation, effective in a month as he approaches retirement. Sources indicate he played a vital role in overseeing the ministry’s political divisions and maintaining communication with political leaders on foreign policy matters. Despite nearing the constitutional retirement age, he was recently granted a one-year extension by Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis. Kundouros is set to be replaced by the current director of Greek-Turkish relations as preparations continue for upcoming diplomatic meetings.
