Students from Düsseldorf visited Thessaloniki for a five-day exchange program with peers from Eurogymnasium of Evosmos, focusing on historical memory. Sponsored by the Greek-German Youth Foundation, participants shared ideas, explored historical sites, and engaged in discussions about shared histories, emphasizing democracy and tolerance. The initiative follows a previous visit by Greek students to Germany. Both sides highlighted the importance of understanding the complexities of their past, especially regarding World War II. The program aims to foster intercultural understanding and counter rising extremism through education and shared experiences.
