In light of the upcoming holiday shopping season, Greece’s Secretary General for Commerce and Consumer Protection, Sotiris Anagnostopoulos, announced a new initiative aimed at addressing misleading discounts and consumer fraud. The government will provide consumers with mobile tools to report fraud directly. Consumers can upload timestamped photos as evidence for regulatory authorities, with the app expected to launch in three to four months. Anagnostopoulos assured that no business can retaliate against consumers filing complaints.
