Greek Government’s Tax Cuts Fuel Economic Optimism, Says Minister

The Greek government, led by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has reportedly reduced or abolished over 50 taxes in its first term and is set to implement an additional 12 tax cuts starting January 1, 2025. Government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis emphasized that while progress has been made, further measures are necessary to boost citizen incomes, which still lag behind the European average. He highlighted the creation of over 500,000 jobs since 2019 and a significant drop in both overall and youth unemployment, though challenges remain. The government aims to continue tax reduction policies in alignment with fiscal stability.
