Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis has announced the immediate upgrade of the Health Centers in Sfakia and Anogeia to Category A status. This decision follows a request from Sfakia’s Mayor, Giannis Zerva, and has been supported by local New Democracy MPs. In response to criticism from politician Pavlos Polakis, Georgiadis emphasized that the centers have never been classified as Category A, even during the Syriza government. Earlier, residents mobilized in protest against the initial decision to exclude the Sfakia Health Center from remote area classifications.
