Greek Lawmaker Urges Immediate Payment to Local Private Physicians Amid Accumulating Debts

Alexandros Meikopoulos, a Syriza MP from Magnesia, has raised concerns in Parliament over unpaid debts owed by the military to local private doctors who have provided healthcare services to military personnel and their families. Reports indicate that private doctors have not received payment for years, forcing them to cease offering services through official military health insurance. This situation jeopardizes the healthcare access for military staff, who may now have to seek care at distant military hospitals or pay out of pocket. Meikopoulos is calling on the Ministries of National Defense and Health to promptly resolve the issue.
