A 75-year-old man who was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit at the University Hospital of Ioannina was declared brain dead. Following family consent, his kidneys were successfully harvested on Saturday night and transported to Evangelismos Hospital in Athens for transplantation. The procedure involved collaboration between the transplantation centers in Ioannina and Patras.
