Greek Minister Niki Kerameus Highlights Decrease in Unemployment Rate
In a statement to the Parliament, Greek Minister of Labor Niki Kerameus emphasized ongoing efforts to combat unemployment and boost employment rates. She referenced a recent ELSTAT report indicating a drop in unemployment from 9.8% to 9% in the first quarter of 2024. Kerameus noted that over 500,000 new job positions have emerged, reinforcing the positive trend in the unemployment index. OECD head Mathias Cormann also commended Greece’s progress towards enhancing employment during his visit.
