Greek Police Dismantles Crime Organization Supplying Counterfeit Alcohol
The Hellenic Police has dismantled a criminal organization responsible for supplying counterfeit alcoholic beverages to nightclubs in Athens. The illegal distillery was based in Heraklion, Crete, from where the products were distributed to storage facilities in Aigaleo. The crackdown followed an incident at a popular club where underage patrons fell unconscious after consuming the tainted alcohol. A total of seven individuals are facing charges, with five arrested during police operations across Attica and Crete. Significant quantities of counterfeit vodka and distillation equipment were seized.
