Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis Announces Abolishment of Banking Fees
In a recent statement to the Greek Parliament, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis declared that all charges for basic banking transactions will be eliminated. Additionally, a cap on transfer fees is introduced, and adjustments to property tax for bank-managed assets are planned to encourage rental market stability. Mitsotakis also discussed new financial regulations allowing larger companies to participate in small-scale lending, aiming to enhance competition and provide better terms for businesses. Furthermore, 100 million euros will be allocated by major banks to support school renovations and new constructions under the Marietta Giannakou program.
