Greek Retail Sector Sees Modest Growth in Q3 2024

The retail sector in Greece registered a turnover of €18.84 billion in the third quarter of 2024, up by 0.8% compared to the same period last year. Significant growth was observed in motorcycle sales and specialized music stores, while drops were seen in shoe retail and home appliances. Regional disparities were noted, with North Aegean and Crete showing the highest increases, while Eastern Macedonia and Western Macedonia reported declines. Small and medium enterprises also faced challenges, reflecting a mixed recovery trajectory in the retail market.
