Greek Taxi Compliance with Electronic Payment Regulations at 50%

Recent inspections by Greece’s Independent Authority for Public Revenue revealed that only 50% of taxi drivers have complied with the law mandating the installation of a sticker indicating acceptance of electronic payments. The inspections, conducted in key locations across Athens, including taxi stands and the Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, aimed to enforce compliance. Drivers found without the sticker received warnings, with penalties set to be imposed later this week for further non-compliance. Continued checks are planned across the country to increase adherence to the electronic payment requirement.
