Grey Seal Colony Thrives on Secluded Suffolk Coastline

A thriving colony of grey seals at Orford Ness in Suffolk is attributed to minimal human disturbance during the breeding season. Managed by the National Trust, the site has welcomed 80 pups this winter, up from about 200 seals three years ago. Matt Wilson, the countryside manager, emphasizes the importance of preserving the area to support the growing seal population, which he believes can rival other UK colonies. This success is also seen as an indicator of marine health in the North Sea.
