In Japan, replicas of Godric Gryffindor’s sword from the Harry Potter franchise have been recalled due to their violation of the country’s stringent weapons laws. Sold by Warner Bros. Studio Japan LLC from May 2023 to April 2024, these full-sized replicas were deemed sharp enough to qualify as actual swords only after authorities intervened in November. Over 350 units, priced at approximately 30,000 yen each, were affected by the recall.
